Colour scheme =blue,white,grey and black


Language
The masthead "gx magazine" is loacated in the top right hand side of the page ,which looks modern as it isnt centred and even ,like every other magazine .The masthead also varies in font sizes and boldness ,the "GX" must stand for something significant to the college .This is written a very blocky bold font so its the first place you look at when you see the page .Underneath where it says "Magazine" the font is much smaller and less noticable ,maybe this is because they wanted the "GX" to stand out significantly more .Simply becasue we already know this is a magazine . Also something very unique about this magazine cover is the slogan "the word on the street ..." very few magazines have a slogan ,which makes this magazine again look more modernised and unique ,and if this was on a shelf in a store this would deffinatley stand out from the rest .The sub headings in blue have the same font as the masthead which is good as it all looks very organised and smart ,but they are quite difficult to read as the blue is masked by the grey background which is a similar brightness to the blue font,the darker grey colour similar to the grey trousers to the left of the text would have more appropriate here it would connect with the image to the left of the text but also still fit in with the chosen colour scheme . 


Institution
The institution for this magazine cover is Grimsby College .We know this from how many times the word "Grimsby" is used on the front page .


Idealogy
The idealogy for this magazine seems to be ,College life ,and what its like to be at Grimsby college .This magazine cover doesnt really advertize this magazine as being very educational on the front page as the top stories shown are ..."Not just a pretty face " ,"Booze ,drugs and life " and "Shanghai suprise" .This indicates that this magazine is purley for information on student life and not so much on educational information .As this magazine is targeted at the students of Grimsby College ,Student life as the magazines idealogy is good ,as reading about education will not be in favour for many students ,reading about everyday life and problems we may have such as the "booze ,drugs and life" will appeal much more to this targeted audience .


Audience
The audience for this magazine are the students who attend Grimsby College .This is made very clearly through the use of the cartoon drawings and the young womans face presented on the bottom right hand side of the page .Also the slogan ,again because its modern and funky it is suitable for the chosen age range and will appeal to this chosen target audience .

Contents Page


I think the good thing you notice straight away about this contents page is that you no it belongs to the front cover as the "GX" masthead is on the left page and the colour scheme is the same as the front page .Something i also like about these two pages are the amount of images used .They make it look a lot less dull and more interesting to look at.I like the way the contents overlap the photograph this makes the design look as if they have thought about the layout and design of the magazine .I think that the contents written in different colours on the right page looks good as they stand out and are easier to read ,again this makes it look less dull .They have kept the font the same throughout the two pages which is also good as its not confusing and messy .The layering of the photographs is a good idea
Again the only critisism of these two pages would be ,the page on the left only has two photographs taking up a full page maybe just one photograph would make it look better with some more writing .Alo the Masthead on the right page that says "Contents" is a different colour to the previous mastheads which have been used ,also its a different font to the others which have been used on the front page and also the left inner page .
